What is the difference between Zakat and Sadaqah?
Zakat is an obligatory annual charity (2.5% of surplus wealth) for eligible Muslims, while Sadaqah is voluntary charity that can be given at any time and in any amount.
How is Zakat calculated on Save My Akhira?
Our Zakat Calculator uses the current gold/silver Nisab values. You input your cash, gold, investments, and debts, and it calculates the 2.5% due on your net qualifying assets.
Are my donations Zakat-compliant?
Yes. Campaigns marked with a "Zakat" tag are specifically vetted to ensure they meet the criteria for Zakat eligibility (distribution to those in need).
Donations & Payments
How are payments processed?
We use secure payment gateways like Safepay to ensure your transaction is safe. We support various methods including credit/debit cards and mobile wallets.
Are there any platform fees?
Save My Akhira is a non-profit platform. We do not charge platform fees, but payment processors (like Safepay) may charge a small transaction fee (typically 2-3%).
Can I donate anonymously?
Yes. When making a donation, you can check the "Donate Anonymously" box. Your name will be hidden from the public donor list, though the organizer will still see it for administrative purposes.
Campaigns & Verification
How do you verify campaigns?
Every campaign undergoes a mandatory review process. We verify the identity of the organizer and require documentation (medical bills, tuition invoices, etc.) to prove the need.
Who can create a campaign?
Any registered user can start a campaign. However, it will not be visible on the platform until it is approved by our administration team.
What happens if a campaign doesn’t reach its goal?
The funds already raised are still transferred to the beneficiary. We believe every bit helps, even if the full goal is not met.
