Commentary
After swearing an oath by the sky and stars, in this Surah, Allah asserts that He has assigned a guardian angel to every human being who watches over his deeds and actions, and accurate and immediate record is kept on the basis of which the reckoning will be made, and on the Day of Reckoning, all secrets will be revealed. The rational conclusion is that man must ponder over the consequences of the deeds he is doing in this life. Therefore, he should not, at any moment of his life, lose sight of what is to happen on the Day of Reckoning. Thereafter, the verse disposes of a doubt that the Satan perennially casts into the people's hearts. When they are dead and have become dust and decomposed particles, how will they be recomposed and life be brought back? This seems to be an imaginary thought, rather, in the view of the general public, it is impossible. In answer to this doubt, man is invited to reflect on his origin. At the inception, he was created from various elements collected from throughout the world, and Allah's Power transformed them into a human being who is able to listen and see. Allah Who has created him and looked after him is well able to bring him back to life after death. Then some events of the Day of Judgment are mentioned. Then, after swearing an oath by the earth and the sky, the negligent man is told that the Hereafter he is urged to care about is no joke or amusement, but it is a reality that has to come to pass. Towards the end of the Surah, the unbelievers pose the question: If Allah abhors disbelief, idolatry and sins, why then does He not punish us in this life? The Surah ends with a rebuttal to this question. Let us now explain some expressions used in the Surah:
The first oath, in the beginning of the Surah, is by the sky and tariq. The word tariq means the 'Night-Corner'. Stars normally disappear during the day and only appear at night, therefore they are called tariq. The Qur'an itself raises the question:
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ (and what may let you know what the Night-Comer is?...86:2) and then answers the question thus: النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ (The star of piercing brightness!...86:3). The word najm means 'star'. The Qur'an does not specify any particular 'star'. Therefore, it may be applied to any star. Some of the commentators say that najm refers to the Pleiades or Saturn, and they quote specimens of Arabic speech to confirm their argument. The word thaqib means 'piercing brightness'.

The Virtues of Surat At-Tariq
An-Nasa'i recorded that Jabir said, "Mu`adh lead the Maghrib prayer and he recited Al-Baqarah and An-Nisa'. So the Prophet said,
«أَفَتَّانٌ أَنْتَ يَا مُعَاذُ، مَا كَانَ يَكْفِيكَ أَنْ تَقْرَأَ بِالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا وَنَحْوِهَا؟»
(Are you putting the people to trial O Mu`adh! Was it not sufficient for you to recite As-Sama'i wat-Tariq, and Ash-Shamsi wa Duhaha, and something like them)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Swearing by the Existence of Humanity surrounded by the Organized System of Allah
Allah swears by the heaven and what He has placed in it of radiant stars. Thus, He says,
وَالسَّمَآءِ وَالطَّارِقِ
(By the heaven, and At-Tariq;) Then He says,
وَمَآ أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ
(And what will make you to know what At-Tariq is) Then He explains it by His saying,
النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ
(The star of Ath-Thaqib.) Qatadah and others have said, "The star has been named Tariq because it is only seen at night and it is hidden during the day." His view is supported by what has been mentioned in the authentic Hadith that prohibits a man to come to his family Taruq. This means that he comes to them unexpectedly at nighttime. Concerning Allah's statement,
الثَّاقِبُ
(Ath-Thaqib.) Ibn `Abbas said, "The illuminating." `Ikrimah said, "It is illuminating and it burns the Shaytan" Then Allah says,
إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
(There is no human being but has a protector over him.) meaning, every soul has a guardian over it from Allah that protects it from the calamities. This is as Allah says,
لَهُ مُعَقِّبَـتٌ مِّن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ يَحْفَظُونَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ
(For Him, there are angels in succession, before and behind him. They guard him by the command of Allah.) (13:11)
How Man is created is a Proof of Allah's Ability to Return Him to Him
Allah says,
فَلْيَنظُرِ الإِنسَـنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
(So, let man see from what he is created!) This is alerting man to the weakness of his origin from which he was created. The intent of it is to guide man to accept (the reality of) the Hereafter, because whoever is able to begin the creation then he is also able to repeat it in the same way. This is as Allah says,
وَهُوَ الَّذِى يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ وَهُوَ أَهْوَنُ عَلَيْهِ
(And He it is Who originates the creation, then He will repeat it; and this is easier for Him.) (30:27) Then Allah says,
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
(He is created from a water gushing forth.) meaning, the sexual fluid that comes out bursting forth from the man and the woman. Thus, the child is produced from both of them by the permission of Allah. Due to this Allah says,
يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَآئِبِ
(Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs.) meaning, the backbone (or loins) of the man and the ribs of the woman, which is referring to her chest. Shabib bin Bishr reported from `Ikrimah who narrated from Ibn `Abbas that he said,
يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَآئِبِ
(Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs.) "The backbone of the man and the ribs of the woman. It (the fluid) is yellow and fine in texture. The child will not be born except from both of them (i.e., their sexual fluids)." Concerning Allah's statement,
إِنَّهُ عَلَى رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ
(Verily, He is Able to bring him back (to life)!) This means that He is able to return this man that is created from fluid gushed forth. In other words, He is able to repeat his creation and resurrect him to the final abode. This is clearly possible, because whoever is able to begin the creation then he surely is able to repeat it. Indeed Allah has mentioned this proof in more than one place in the Qur'an.
On the Day of Judgement, Man will have no Power or Assistance
In this regard Allah says,
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَآئِرُ
(The Day when all the secrets will be examined.) meaning, on the Day of Judgement the secrets will be tested. This means that they will be exposed and made manifest. Thus, the secret will be made open and that which is concealed will be well known. It is confirmed in the Two Sahihs on the authority of Ibn `Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
«يُرْفَعُ لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءٌ عِنْدَ اسْتِهِ يُقَالُ: هذِهِ غَدْرَةُ فُلَانِ بْنِ فُلَان»
(Every betrayer will have a flag raised for him behind his back, and it will be said, `This is the betrayal of so-and-so, the son of so-and-so.') Concerning Allah's statement,
فَمَا لَهُ
(Then he will have no) meaning, man on the Day of Judgement.
مِن قُوَّةٍ
(any power) meaning, within himself.
وَلاَ نَاصِرٍ
(nor any helper.) meaning, from other than himself. This statement means that he will not be able to save himself from the torment of Allah, and nor will anyone else be able to save him.

"Demi langit dan yang datang pada malam hari, tahukah kamu apa yang datang pada malam hari itu? (Yaitu) bintang yang cahayanya menembus, tidak ada suatu jiwa pun (diri) melainkan ada penjaganya. Maka hendaklah manusia memperhatikan dari apakah dia diciptakan? Dia diciptakan dari air yang terpancar, yang keluar dari antara tulang sulbi laki-laki dan tulang dada perempuan. Sesungguhnya Allah benar-benar kuasa untuk mengem-balikannya (hidup sesudah mati). Pada hari dinampakkan segala rahasia, maka sekali-kali tidak ada bagi manusia itu suatu ke-kuatan pun dan tidak (pula) seorang penolong. Demi langit yang mengandung hujan, dan bumi yang mempunyai tumbuh-tumbuhan, sesungguhnya al-Qur`an itu benar-benar Firman yang memisahkan antara yang haq dan yang batil, dan sekali-kali bukanlah ia senda gurau. Sesungguhnya orang kafir itu merencanakan tipu daya yang jahat dengan sebenar-benarnya. Dan Aku pun membuat rencana (pula) dengan sebenar-benarnya. Karena itu beri tangguhlah orang-orang kafir itu, yaitu beri tangguhlah mereka itu barang sebentar." (Ath-Thariq: 1-17).
Makkiyah
"Dengan Menyebut Nama Allah Yang Maha Pengasih Lagi Maha Penyayang."
(1-4) Allah سبحانه وتعالى berfirman, ﴾ وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ 1 ﴿ "Demi langit dan yang datang pada malam hari," kemudian yang datang di malam hari di-jelaskan dengan FirmanNya, ﴾ ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ ﴿ "(Yaitu) bintang yang caha-yanya menembus," yakni yang bercahaya yang cahayanya menembus dan membakar langit hingga tembus dan terlihat dari bumi. Yang benar, bintang yang cahayanya menembus adalah kata umum yang mencakup seluruh bintang yang cahayanya menembus. Ada yang menafsirkannya dengan bintang saturnus yang memecah ketujuh langit dan menembusnya hingga dapat terlihat darinya. Disebut ath-Thariq karena bintang tersebut datang di waktu malam. Obyek sumpahnya adalah Firman Allah سبحانه وتعالى, ﴾ إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞ ﴿ "Tidak ada suatu jiwa pun (diri) melainkan ada penjaganya," yang menjaga amal perbuat-annya, baik dan buruknya, dan amal yang dijaganya akan dibalas.
(5-7) ﴾ فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ ﴿ "Maka hendaklah manusia memperhatikan dari apakah dia diciptakan?" Yakni, hendaklah manusia merenungkan penciptaan dan permulaannya, dia adalah makhluk (yang tercipta) ﴾ مِن مَّآءٖ دَافِقٖ ﴿ "dari air yang terpancar," yaitu air mani yang ﴾ يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ ٱلصُّلۡبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ ﴿ "keluar dari antara tulang sulbi laki-laki dan tulang dada perem-puan." Kemungkinan yang dimaksud adalah tulang belakang lelaki dan tulang dada perempuan dan kemungkinan yang dimaksud adalah air mani yang memancar, yaitu air mani lelaki, karena air mani keluar di antara tulang punggung dan tulang dada. Dan se-pertinya inilah yang lebih utama, karena sifat air yang memancar yang bisa dilihat dan dirasakan pancarannya adalah air mani lelaki. Di samping itu, kata tara`ib juga dipakai untuk kaum lelaki yang bagi kaum wanita adalah tulang dada. Andai yang dimaksudkan adalah wanita, tentu yang disebutkan adalah tulang sulbi dan tulang dada perempuan. Wallahu a'lam.
(8-10) Dzat yang menciptakan manusia dari air yang me-mancar yang keluar dari tempat yang sulit, tentu mampu untuk mengembalikannya ke akhirat dan untuk membangkitkan, me-ngumpulkan, dan memberi balasan. Ada yang menafsirkan bahwa maknanya adalah, sesungguhnya Allah سبحانه وتعالى kuasa untuk mengem-balikan air mani yang terpancar ke dalam tulang sulbi kembali. Meski secara makna benar, tapi bukan seperti itu maksud ayat ini. Karena itu Allah سبحانه وتعالى berfirman setelahnya, ﴾ يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ ﴿ "Pada hari di-nampakkan segala rahasia," yaitu rahasia-rahasia dada ditampakkan dan segala kebaikan dan keburukan yang ada di hati terlihat pada rona muka. Seperti difirmankan Allah سبحانه وتعالى,
﴾ يَوۡمَ تَبۡيَضُّ وُجُوهٞ وَتَسۡوَدُّ وُجُوهٞۚ ﴿
"Pada hari wajah-wajah memutih dan wajah-wajah menghitam." (Ali Imran: 106).
Di dalam dunia, banyak hal yang bisa disembunyikan yang tidak nampak oleh mata manusia, tapi di Hari Kiamat, kebaikan orang-orang baik dan dosa orang-orang yang berdosa pasti nampak. Semua hal menjadi terang dan jelas. Allah سبحانه وتعالى berfirman, ﴾ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٖ ﴿ "Maka sekali-kali tidak ada bagi manusia itu suatu kekuatan pun," yakni dari dirinya yang bisa menangkal, ﴾ وَلَا نَاصِرٖ ﴿ "dan tidak (pula) seorang penolong" dari luar yang menolongnya. Ini adalah sumpah terhadap orang-orang yang berbuat pada saat mereka melakukannya dan pada saat mereka diberi balasan.
(11-14) Kemudian Allah سبحانه وتعالى membagi golongan selanjut-nya berdasar keabsahan al-Qur`an seraya berfirman, ﴾ وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ 11 وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ 12 ﴿ "Demi langit yang mengandung hujan, dan bumi yang mempunyai tumbuh-tumbuhan," yakni langit membawa hujan setiap tahunnya dan bumi mengembalikannya berupa tumbuh-tumbuhan sehingga manusia dan binatang bisa hidup dengannya. Langit juga membawa takdir dan urusan-urusan ilahi di setiap waktu sedang-kan bumi menumbuhkan tumbuh-tumbuhan. ﴾ إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلٞ فَصۡلٞ ﴿ "Sesung-guhnya al-Qur`an itu benar-benar Firman yang memisahkan antara yang haq dan yang batil," yaitu benar, jujur, jelas, dan terang, ﴾ وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ ﴿ "dan sekali-kali bukanlah ia senda gurau," yakni serius, bukan senda gurau. Al-Qur`an adalah Firman yang membedakan antara berba-gai golongan dan berbagai perkataan, serta memutuskan berbagai sengketa.
(15-17) ﴾ إِنَّهُمۡ ﴿ "Sesungguhnya orang kafir itu," yaitu orang-orang yang mendustakan Rasulullah a dan al-Qur`an, ﴾ يَكِيدُونَ كَيۡدٗا ﴿ "merencanakan tipu daya yang jahat dengan sebenar-benarnya," agar dengan tipu daya mereka dapat menolak kebenaran dan menguat-kan kebatilan. ﴾ وَأَكِيدُ كَيۡدٗا ﴿ "Dan Aku pun membuat rencana (pula) dengan sebenar-benarnya," untuk menampakkan kebenaran meski orang-orang kafir benci dan untuk menangkal kebatilan yang mereka bawa. Dengan demikian akan diketahui siapakah yang menang. Manusia sangatlah lemah dan hina untuk bisa mengalahkan Allah Yang Mahakuat lagi Maha Mengetahui dalam rencana pembalasan terhadap tipu daya. ﴾ فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدَۢا ﴿ "Karena itu beri tangguhlah orang-orang kafir itu, yaitu beri tangguhlah mereka itu barang sebentar," yakni sementara waktu, dan mereka akan mengetahui resiko sikap mereka pada saat siksaan menimpa.

12- Devamlı yarılan yere ki
13- O (Kur'ân), kesin ve (hakla batılı) ayırt edici bir sözdür.
14- Şaka değildir.
15- Şüphesiz onlar, bir tuzak kuruyorlar.
16- Ben de bir tuzak kuruyorum.
17- O nedenle sen kâfirlere mühlet tanı; evet; onlara azıcık mühlet ver.

Rahmân ve Rahîm Allah’ın adı ile.
1-3. Yüce Allah:“Andolsun göğe ve Târık’a” buyurduktan sonra Târık’ı: “O, delip geçen yıldızdır” diye açıklamaktadır. Yani o, ışığı gökleri delip geçen ve yeryüzünde görününceye kadar bunu sürdüren parlak bir yıldızdır.
Doğrusu bunun, delip geçici özelliğe sahip bütün yıldızları kapsayan bir cins/tür ismi olduğudur.
Bunun yedi semayı delip geçen ve oradan yere ulaşarak görülen Zuhal/Satürn gezegeni olduğu da söylenmiştir.
Buna Târık denilmesi, geceleyin ortaya çıkışından dolayıdır.
4. Hakkında yemin olunan şey ise şudur:“Üzerinde bir gözcü (meleğin) bulunmadığı hiçbir kimse yoktur.” Bu gözcü, o kişinin iyi ve kötü amellerini kaydeder ve herkes de kayedilen amellerinin karşılığını görecektir.
5-7. “O halde insan neyden yaratılmış olduğuna bir baksın !” Yaratılışını ve ilk var edilişini düşünsün. Çünkü “o, hızla atılan bir sudan” yani meniden “yaratılmıştır. O su, (erkeğin) beli ile (kadının) göğüs kemikleri arasından çıkar.” Bunun erkeğin beli ile kadının göğüs kemikleri olma ihtimali vardır.
Bu atılıp dökülen meniden kastedilenin sadece erkeğin menisi olma ihtimali de vardır. Onun çıkıp ayrıldığı yer ise onun beli ile göğüs kemikleri arasıdır. Bu mananın daha uygun olma ihtimali vardır. Çünkü bu, somut olarak döküldüğü bilinen o “hızla atılan su”yun sıfatı olarak zikredilmiştir ki bu da erkeğin menisidir. Aynı şekilde “göğüs kemikleri” anlamındaki “الترائب” kelimesi de erkekler için kullanılır. Eğer burada kadın kastedilmiş olsa idi farklı bir ifade kullanılması gerekirdi. Doğrusunu en iyi bilen Allah’tır.
8. İnsanı hızla atılan bir sudan yaratan ve bu suyu o zorlu yerden çıkartan, âhirette öldükten sonra diriliş, amellerinin görülmesi ve karşılıklarının verilmesi için tekrar yaratmaya kadirdir.
Bu ayetin şu anlama geldiği de söylenmiştir: Yüce Allah, belden atılıp dökülen bu suyu oraya geri döndürmeye kadirdir. Bu anlam lafzen doğru olmakla birlikte âyet-i kerimede kastedilen mana bu değildir. Bundan dolayıdır ki daha sonra şöyle buyrulmaktadır:
9. “O gün gizlilikler açığa çıkartılacaktır.” Yani kalplerdeki gizlilikler sınanır, kalplerde bulunan hayır ve şer yüzlerde açıkça görülür. Nitekim Yüce Allah, şöyle buyurmaktadır:“O gün kimi yüzler ağaracaktır, kimi yüzler de kararacaktır.”(Âl-i İmran, 3/106)
Dünyada pek çok şeyler gizlenip saklanabilir ve insanlar tarafından açıkça görülmeyebilir.
Ama Kıyamet gününde iyilerin iyilikleri, günahkârların günahları ortaya çıkacak ve her şey açıkça görülecektir.
10. “Onun ne bir gücü ne de bir yardımcısı olmayacaktır.” Yani ne kendisini savunacak bir gücü olacaktır, ne de dışarıdan yardım alacak bir desteği.
Buradaki yemin, amelde bulunanlar, onların amelde bulunmaları ve amellerinin görülmesi ile ilgili bir yemindi.
İkinci olarak Allah, Kur’ân’ın doğruluğuna dair yemin ederek şöyle buyurmaktadır:
11-12. “Andolsun sürekli dönen göğe ve devamlı yarılan yere ki...” Semâ her yıl yağmur ile geri döner ve yer de bitirdiği mahsullerin çıkması için yarılıp çatlar. Böylelikle insanlar ve hayvanlar yaşama imkânını bulurlar.
Yine semâ, her zaman için ilâhî kader ve işler ile döner durur. Yer de ölüleri dışarı çıkarmak için yarılıp çatlayacaktır.
13-14. “O” yani Kur’ân-ı Kerîm “kesin ve (hakla batılı) ayırt edici bir sözdür.” Doğrudur, gerçektir, apaçıktır. “Şaka değildir.” Çok ciddidir. O, çeşitli gruplar ve farklı görüşler arasında hüküm verip haklıyı haksızdan ayırt eden bir sözdür. Onun hükmü ile anlaşmazlıklar sona erer.
15. “Şüphesiz onlar” yani Rasûlullah sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem’i ve Kur’ân-ı Kerîm’i yalanlayanlar, hakkı bertaraf etmek ve batılı desteklemek maksadı ile “bir tuzak kuruyorlar.”
16. “Ben de” kâfirler hoş görmese dahi hakkı galip getirmek ve onların ileri sürdükleri batılı bertaraf etmek için “bir tuzak kuruyorum.” Ki bu yolla kimin galip olduğu da bilinmiş olacaktır. Hiç şüphesiz Âdemoğlu kurduğu hile ve tuzaklarla, pek güçlü ve her şeyi bileni yenik düşüremeyecek kadar güçsüz ve acizdir.
17. “O nedenle sen kâfirlere mühlet tanı; evet; onlara azıcık mühlet ver.” Zira ilahî azabın gelip başlarına ineceği vakit, yaptıklarının âkıbetini bileceklerdir.

A star shining upon a man is a symbolic reminder of the fact that an Observer is watching him. This Observer is recording man’s deeds. He will resurrect man after his death and take the reckoning of all his deeds. It is the period of respite (during which man is put to the test) which acts as a ‘wedge’ between man and the aforesaid event. As soon as the period of trial is over, he will face the consequences—from which he seems to be far away today.
Ito, ang bituin, ay tumatagos sa langit sa pamamagitan ng tanglaw nitong nagliliyab.
O, parıldayan ışığıyla gökyüzünü delen bir yıldızdır.
There is no soul except that Allah has assigned to it an angel to record its deeds for the reckoning on the day of judgment.
Walang anumang kaluluwa malibang nagtalaga si Allāh rito ng isang anghel na nag-iingat dito ng mga gawa nito para sa pagtutuos sa Araw ng Pagbangon.
Không một linh hồn nào mà không được Allah cử một Thiên Thần theo giám sát để ghi chép hành động của y làm bằng chứng thanh toán trong Ngày Tận Thế.
Non vi è un'anima a cui Allāh non abbia affidato un angelo che annota le sue azioni per il Rendiconto, nel Giorno della Resurrezione.
ne postoji ni jedan čovjek, a da Allah nije odredio čuvara koj pazi na njegova djela i priprema ih za obračun na Sudnjem danu.
Allah Teâlâ, kıyamet günü hesap vermesi için her bir kişiye amellerini kaydeden bir melek görevlendirmiştir.
Tidak ada seorang pun melainkan Allah menugaskan malaikat untuk mencatat amal perbuatannya dengan tujuan perhitungan amalnya nanti pada hari Kiamat.
Il n’existe pas d’âme à laquelle Allah n’a pas associé un ange qui consigne ses œuvres en vue de la Reddition des Comptes le Jour de la Résurrection.

إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ (there is no human being, but there is a watcher over him....86:4). This is the subject of the oath. The particle in at the beginning of the statement is used in the sense of 'no', that is, a negative particle; and the particle lamma is used in the sense of 'but/except', that is, it is an exceptive particle in the dialect of Banu Hudhail. The verse purports to say that there is not a single person over whom there is not a watcher [ hafiz ]. The word hafiz may mean 'guardian' who may watch over someone's actions and deeds, so that the reckoning is made on that basis. The word hafiz may also be used in the sense of 'one who protects from calamities'. In the first sense, the word hafiz refers to the angels who record the deeds. Here the word hafiz , although appears in the singular form, it is used in the generic sense, because there is not just a single recording angel, but there is a host of them as another verse testifies to this fact:
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ ﴿10﴾ كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ
'While [ appointed ] over you there are watchers, who are noble, the writers [ of the deeds ],[ 82: 10-11] '
According to the second sense of the word, hafiz refers to the angels who have been appointed to protect man from all kinds of calamities that befall him day and night, except the calamities that Allah has decreed for him, as the following verse explicitly states:
لَهُ مُعَقِّبَاتٌ مِّن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ يَحْفَظُونَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّـهِ
'For him there are angels replacing each other, before him and
behind him, who guard him under the command of Allah [ 13:11]
A tradition has reported the Messenger of Allah saying that Allah has appointed three hundred and sixty angels for every believer. They protect every limb of his. Of the three hundred and sixty, seven angels alone protect man's eye. These angels defend man from every calamity that is not decreed, like a fan chases away the flies coming to a vessel containing honey. If there are no security guards for man, the devils will snatch them away. [ Qurtubi ].
Oleh sebab itu, hendaknya manusia merenungkan dari apa Allah menciptakannya agar jelas baginya kekuasaan Allah dan jelas pula kelemahan dirinya.
Que l’être humain réfléchisse à ce dont Allah l’a créé afin que Lui apparaisse la grandeur du pouvoir d’Allah et sa propre impuissance.
So let man reflect over what Allah created him from, so that Allah’s power and man’s inability becomes clear to him.
Entonces, que el ser humano reflexione acerca de lo que Al-lah lo creó, para que el poder de Al-lah y la limitación del ser humano se vuelvan claros para él.
Öyleyse insan, Allah’ın kudreti ve insanoğlunun acizliği ortaya çıksın diye Allah'ın onu neyden yarattığını bir düşünsün.
Con người hãy ngẫm nghĩ xem mình được Allah tạo ra từ cái gì, để y hoàn toàn phủ phục quyền năng của Allah cũng như thừa nhận sự bất lực của mình.
Kaya magnilay-nilay ang tao mula sa ano lumikha sa kanya si Allāh upang lumiwanag para sa kanya ang kakayahan ni Allāh at ang kawalang-kakayahan ng tao.
Che l'uomo rifletta di cosa Allāh lo ha creato, in modo che gli sia chiara la Potenza di Allāh e l'impotenza dell'uomo.

Allah l’a créé d’une eau qui est giclée dans l’utérus
Allah created him from a spurting liquid that is split into the womb.
Allah; onu, fışkırarak rahme akıtılan bir sudan yarattı.
Al-lah lo creó a partir de un líquido seminal.
Allah ga je stvorio od tekućine koja u mlazu izbija i ulazi u rodnicu.
خُلِقَ مِن مَّاءٍ دَافِقٍ ﴿6﴾ يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ (He is created of a spouting water
that comes out from between the loins and the chest-bones...86:6, 7). The general body of commentators have explained that the spouting water (sperm) comes out from the loins of men and the chest-bones of women. However, the research of embryological science on the subject shows that the seminal fluid comes out from every part of human body, and every part of the foetus is made of the seminal fluid that has come out from that part of the man's and woman's body. The brain, of course, plays the greatest role in this matter. Thus experience shows that people who indulge in excessive cohabitation mostly suffer from weakness of mental weakness. The embryologists have at the same time discovered that the seminal fluid separates from all parts of the body, and through the spinal cord, collects in the testes and from there it spouts.
If these findings have any value, it is not far-fetched to reconcile them with the explanation of some of the commentators. Embryologists agree that the brain plays the most important role in the preparation of seminal fluid. The representative of the brain is the spinal cord that has come into the backbone from the brain, up to the loins and the testes. Some of its branches have come into the chest-bones. It is likely that the seminal fluid coming from the chest-bones into the woman's seminal fluid and the seminal fluid coming from the loins into a man's seminal fluid have a greater role to play. If we analyse the verse of the Qur'an carefully, we notice that it does not specify 'man or woman'. It merely says 'He is created of spouting water that comes out from between the loins and the chest-bones.' This may simply signify that the seminal fluid comes out from the entire body of both men and women. The expression 'the entire body' is understood from the mention of the principal organs of front and back. The front part of the body is chest and the back part of the body is the loin. These are the principal parts of the body. The expression, 'the spouting water that comes out from between the loins and the chest-bones' may mean 'comes out from the entire body'.

Ta tekućina izlazi između kičme muškarca i grudne kosti.
Questo liquido fuoriesce tra la colonna vertebrale dell'uomo e le ossa del torace.
Este líquido emerge de entre las entrañas y el hueso pélvico del ser humano.
This liquid emerges from between the spinal column of a man and the bones of the chest.
et qui provient d’entre la colonne vertébrale et les côtes.
Air ini keluar dari tulang rusuk laki-laki dan tulang dada perempuan.
Bu su, erkeğin omurilik kemiğiyle göğüs kemiklerinin arasından çıkar.
Tunay na Siya – kaluwalhatian sa Kanya – yayamang lumikha Siya nito mula sa likidong hamak ay Nakakakaya sa pagbuhay rito matapos ng kamatayan nito para maging buhay para sa pagtutuos at pagganti.
In verità, gloria Sua, lo ha creato a partire da un liquido insignificante ed è ben in grado di riportarlo in vita dopo la sua morte per il Rendiconto e la Retribuzione.
Allah -Subhânehu ve Teâlâ- onu, bu hakir sudan yaratabiliyorsa, elbette ölümünün ardından hesaba çekmek için onu diri olarak yeniden yaratmaya da kadirdir.
إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ (Surely He is Powerful to bring him back...86:8) The word raj means 'to bring back'. The verse signifies that Allah Who has created him from a drop of seminal fluid is well able to bring him back to life after death a fortiori.
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ (on a day when all the secrets will be searched out.. 86:9). The word tubla literally means 'to test/examine' and sara'ir means 'secrets'. On the Day of Reckoning, the secrets will be tested and examined and laid bare. Man's beliefs, his thoughts, and his motives and intentions that were hidden in this life, and no one knew about them, will be revealed in the Hereafter.
Likewise, his deeds and actions that he had done secretly, and no one was aware of them in this world, all of them will be tested and scrutinised on the Plain of Gathering and will be laid bare. Said 'Abdullah Ibn ` Umar ؓ has said that on the Day of Judgment Allah will disclose the secrets of all human beings. The sign of every good or bad belief and action will be displayed on man's face, in the form of beauty or darkness or gloom [ depending on each individual's situation ]. [ Qurtubi ].
Así como Al-lah lo creó a partir de ese líquido despreciable, tiene el poder de resucitarlo después de la muerte para el juicio y la retribución.
Quả thật, Đấng - khi đã tạo con người từ một loại nước đáng khinh này - sẽ thừa khả năng tái tạo lại y một lần nữa từ cõi chết để thanh toán và thưởng phạt.
He, may He be glorified - since He created him from that despised liquid - has the power to bring him back to life after death for the reckoning and recompense.
Tout comme Allah l’a créé de cette eau vile, Il a le pouvoir de le ressusciter après sa mort afin de lui demander des comptes et de le rétribuer.
Ako je Allah Uzvišeni u stanju da stvori čovjeka od ove neznantne tekućine, onda je u stanju i da ga proživi nakon smrti, kako bi račun polagao i dobio ono što je zaslužio.
Tatkala Allah menciptakannya dari air yang hina itu sesungguhnya Allah Mahakuasa untuk membangkitkannya setelah kematiannya untuk perhitungan amal perbuatan dan pembalasan.
On the day when secrets will be tried and the intentions, beliefs etc. that the hearts conceal will be exposed, and the righteous will be distinguished from the corrupt.
E quando gli intimi segreti verranno rivelati, verranno a galla le intenzioni, la fede e altro che celavano nei loro cuori, e così potrà essere fatta distinzione tra il buono e il malvagio.
Itu terjadi pada hari ketika semua rahasia terkuak, lalu tersingkaplah niat, keyakinan, dan lainnya yang dulu tersembunyi di dalam hati, sehingga tampaklah perbedaan antara orang yang baik dan orang yang buruk.
Ngày mà mọi điều bị mật sẽ được công khai, mọi thứ trong lòng như sự định tâm, niềm tin ... người ngoan đạo và người phản nghịch sẽ được phân loại.
O gün bütün sırlar sınanır, kalplerin gizlediği niyetler, inançlar ve bunların dışında diğer şeyler ortaya çıkarılır ve salih olanlar fasit olanlardan ayrılır.
En el día en que se juzgarán los secretos y se expondrán las intenciones y creencias que los corazones ocultan, y los justos se distinguirán de los corruptos.
na dan kada se tajne otkriju i kada postane poznato ono što su srca skrivala, kada namjere i vjerovanja budu ispoljena, pa će se saznati ko je bio dobar, a ko loš.
Sa Araw na susulitin ang mga lihim para mabunyag ang dating inililingid ng mga puso na mga layunin, mga paniniwala, at iba pa sa mga ito para mabukod ang maayos mula sa mga ito at ang tiwali.
Le Jour où on soutirera les secrets et que les cœurs dévoileront les intentions, les croyances et d’autres choses qui y étaient enfouies, amenant ainsi à distinguer le vertueux du corrompu.
Toga dana čovjek neće imati snage da se zaštiti od Allahove kazne, niti će imati pomagača.
Vào Ngày đó, con người sẽ không tìm thấy một nguồn lực nào có thể giúp y thoát khỏi sự trừng phạt của Allah.
In quel giorno, l'uomo non avrà la forza di difendersi dalla punizione di Allāh né avrà un sostenitore che possa aiutarlo.
O gün, insanın Allah’ın azabından imtina edebileceği bir gücü ve kendisine yardım edebilecek hiçbir yardımcısı yoktur.
walang ukol sa tao sa Araw na iyon na anumang lakas na makapipigil siya sa pamamagitan nito sa pagdurusang dulot ni Allāh, ni tagatulong na tutulong sa kanya.
Pada hari itu manusia sama sekali tidak mempunyai kekuatan yang bisa mencegahnya dari siksa Allah dan tidak ada penolong yang dapat menolongnya.
On that day man will not have any power to protect himself from Allah’s punishment, nor any helper to assist him.
Ce Jour-là, l’être humain ne disposera d’aucune force pour se prémunir contre le châtiment d’Allah ni de secoureur qui l’assistera.
Ese día, el ser humano no tendrá ningún poder para protegerse del castigo de Al-lah, ni ningún auxiliador que lo socorra.
Allah bersumpah dengan langit yang mempunyai hujan, karena hujan turun dari arah langit.
Allah thề bởi bầu trời có mưa, bởi nó mưa theo hướng của nó, một lần rồi đến một lần.
Allah se kune nebom sa kojeg silazi kiša, i njeno silaženje ponavlja se.
Swearing to the Truthfulness of the Qur'an and the Failure of Those Who oppose it
Ibn `Abbas said, "Ar-raj` means rain." It has also been narrated from him that he said, "It means the clouds that contain rain." He also said,
وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ
(By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again.) "This means that it rains and then it rains (again)." Qatadah said, "It returns the sustenance of the servants (creatures) every year. Were it not for this, they would all be destroyed and so would their cattle."
وَالاّرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ
(And the earth which splits.) Ibn `Abbas said, "Splitting to bring forth plant growths." This was also said by Sa`id bin Jubayr, `Ikrimah, Abu Malik, Ad-Dahhak, Al-Hasan, Qatadah, As-Suddi and others. Concerning Allah's statement,
إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
(Verily, this is the Word that separates.) Ibn `Abbas said (Fasl is), "True." Qatadah also said the same. Someone else said, "A just ruling."
وَمَا هوَ بِالْهَزْلِ
(And it is not a thing for amusement.) meaning, rather it is serious and true. Then Allah informs about the disbelievers saying that they reject Him and hinder others from His path. Allah says,
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْداً
(Verily, they are but plotting a plot.) meaning, they plot against the people in their calling them to oppose the Qur'an. Then Allah says,
وَ اَكِيْدُ كَيْدًا
(and I, too, am plotting a scheme) meaning, I am plotting such that all disbelievers plots will fail and success will be attained by believers.
فَمَهِّلِ الْكَـفِرِينَ
(So, give a respite to the disbelievers;) meaning, wait for them and do not be in haste concerning them.
أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْداً
(deal gently with them for a while.) meaning, a little while. This means that you will see what befalls them of torment, punishment and destruction. This is as Allah says,
نُمَتِّعُهُمْ قَلِيلاً ثُمَّ نَضْطَرُّهُمْ إِلَى عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ
(We let them enjoy for a little while, then in the end We shall oblige them to (enter) a great torment.) (31:24) This is the end of the Tafsir Surat At-Tariq, and unto Allah is all praise and thanks.
وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ (I swear by the sky that rains...86:11) The word raj refers to 'the rain that comes down repeatedly'. In other words, the rain that comes down and stops and then returns.
Sumumpa si Allāh sa langit na may ulan dahil ito ay bumababa mula sa dako nito nang paulit-ulit.
Al-lah jura por el cielo que contiene la lluvia, que desciende una y otra vez.
Allah Teâlâ yağmurlu gökyüzüne yemin etmiştir. Çünkü yağmur, her seferinde o cihetten yağar.
Allāh giurò sul Cielo da cui scende la pioggia, poiché scende da quella direzione di volta in volta,
Allah took an oath by the sky that contains rain, because it comes down from its direction time after time.
Allah prête serment par le Ciel d’où descend la pluie par averses successives,
et par la Terre qui se fend pour laisser sortir de son sein des plantes, des fruits et des arbres, que:
I kune se zemljom koja puca i iz nje niče bilje, plodovi i drveće.
Ve içinde bulunan bitki, ürün/meyve ve ağaçlardan ötürü yarılan toprağa yemin etmiştir.
Sumumpa Siya sa lupa na nagkabiyak-biyak dahil sa narito na mga halaman, mga bunga, at mga punong-kahoy.
e giurò sulla terra che si apre per far sorgere piante, frutta e alberi.
Dia juga bersumpah dengan bumi yang memunculkan apa yang ada di dalamnya berupa tumbuh-tumbuhan, buah-buahan, dan pepohonan.
Ngài thề bởi đất bị chẻ ra để thảo mộc, cây cối mọc lên.
Jura por la tierra que se abre para que broten las plantas, los frutos y los árboles.
He took an oath by the earth that cracks open to reveal the plants, fruit and trees in it.
Şüphesiz Muhammed -sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem-’e indirilmiş olan bu Kur’an, hakkı batıldan ve doğruyu yanlışı birbirinden ayıran bir sözdür.
Sesungguhnya Al-Qur`ān yang diturunkan kepada Muhammad -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- ini adalah ucapan yang membedakan antara yang benar dan yang bathil, yang jujur dan yang dusta.
إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ (this is a decisive word..86:13) In other words, the Qur'an is truly a Decisive Word that decides between truth and falsehood, and there is no room for any doubt in it.
Sayyidna ` Ali ؓ says that he heard the Holy Prophet ﷺ as saying about the Holy Qur'an:
کتاب فیہ خبرما قبلکم و حکم مابعدکم وھو الفصل لیس بلھزل
'[ It is ] a book which describes the stories of past communities and [ it contains ] injunctions for future generations. It is truly a Decisive Word. It is no joke.'

This Qur’ān that is revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a word that separates truth from falsehood, and fact from lie.
In verità, questo Corano rivelato a Muħammed, pace e benedizioni di Allāh su di lui ﷺ, è un Criterio che distingue il giusto dal falso e la verità dalla menzogna;
tunay na ang Qur’ān na ito na pinababa kay Muḥammad – basbasan siya ni Allāh at batiin ng kapayapaan – ay talagang isang sinabing nagbubukod sa pagitan ng katotohanan at kabulaanan, at katapatan at kasinungalingan;
Ce Coran révélé à Muħammad est une parole qui tranche entre le vrai et le faux, entre ce qui est authentique et ce qui est mensonger.
Este Corán que se le revela a Mujámmad r es una palabra que discrimina la verdad de la falsedad y la veracidad de la mentira.
Quả thật, Qur'an được thiên khải cho Muhammad là lời phan biệt giữa Chân Lý và ngụy tạo; giữa trung thực và dối trá.
non è un gioco né falsità, piuttosto è cosa seria e veritiera.
O, bir eğlence ve yalan değildir, bilakis bir ciddiyet ve gerçektir.
Nó không phải là lời nói đùa vô bổ mà Nó là sự thật, là Chân Lý.
Bukan sebagai permainan yang sia-sia, justru ia adalah kesungguhan dan kebenaran.
It is not a game and falsehood, but it is serious and the truth.
Ce n’est pas une plaisanterie et une fausseté mais plutôt une parole sérieuse et véridique.
No es un juego ni una falsedad, sino que es serio y verdadero.
On nije igra i zabava, nije neozbiljan govor, nego su to ozbiljne i istinite riječi.
at hindi ito ang laro at ang kawalang-kabuluhan; bagkus ito ang seryoso at ang totoo.
Ceux qui traitent ce que leur apporte leur Messager de mensonge ourdissent de nombreux stratagèmes afin de refuser et d’invalider sa prédication.
Poricatelji istine koju je donio njihov poslanik prave velike spletke kako bi odvraćali od njegova poziva i kako bi ga uništili.
Those who deny what their messenger brought to them plot and scheme to reject and refute his call.
Aquellos que niegan lo que su Mensajero les trajo, conspiran y planean rechazar y refutar su mensaje.
Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang mendustakan apa yang dibawa oleh Rasul, mereka membuat tipu daya yang banyak untuk menolak dakwahnya dan membatalkannya.
Peygamberlerinin getirdiğini yalanlayanlar, onun davetine engel olmak ve ortadan kaldırmak için bir çok tuzaklar kuruyorlar.
Quả thật, nhóm người phủ nhận những gì do Thiên Sứ mang đến đang lên rất nhiều kế hoạch ngăn chặn con đường truyền đạo của Người và chúng đã dùng thủ đoạn để kết thúc nó.
In verità, coloro che rinnegano ciò che ha comunicato il loro Messaggero intessono molte trame contro di lui per impedire la sua missione e vanificarla;
Tunay na ang mga tagapagpasinungaling sa inihatid sa kanila ng Sugo nila ay nagpapakana ng maraming pakana upang magtakwil sa paanyaya niya at magpabula nito.
Pero Yo también planeo y desbarato sus planes, para hacer que la religión sea victoriosa y para refutar la falsedad.
I too plot and scheme to make the religion victorious and to disprove falsehood.
Lalu Aku pun membuat rencana tipu daya untuk memenangkan agama ini dan menghancurkan kebatilan.
Và TA cũng có kế hoạch phơi bày tôn giáo và xóa tan sự dối trá.
mentre Io tramo dei piani per elevare la religione ed eliminare la menzogna.
I ja njima pravim spletke, ispoljavajući vjeru i uništavajući neistinu.
Ve ben de, hak dinin ortaya çıkması ve batılın çürüyüp yok olması için bir tuzak kuruyorum.
Or Moi aussi J’ourdis un stratagème afin de faire triompher la religion et anéantir le faux.
at nagpapakana naman Ako mismo ng isang pakana para sa paghahayag ng relihiyon at pagpapasinungaling sa kabulaanan.
So give respite, O Messenger, to these disbelievers. Give them respite for a short while, and do not seek to hasten their punishment and destruction.
Dai tempo a questi miscredenti, o Messaggero, e concedi loro una breve tregua e non affrettare la loro punizione e la loro distruzione.
Oleh karena itu, tangguhkanlah -wahai Rasul- orang-orang kafir tersebut, tangguhkanlah mereka sejenak, dan jangan cepat-cepat memohon turunnya azab dan kebinasaan atas mereka.
zato nevjernicima, o Poslaniče, još vremena daj, još koji trenutak ih ostavi i ne požuruj njihovu kaznu.
Accorde donc, ô Messager, à ces mécréants un court délai et ne cherche pas à hâter leur châtiment et leur anéantissement.
Thế nên, Ngươi hãy mặc nhóm người vô đức tin đó đi - hỡi Thiên Sứ - chớ vội vã trừng phạt và tiêu diệt họ.
